Living a “balanced” life just isn’t for everyone… or so you think.
And what even is a balanced life anyway? In today’s modern society information is moving at the speed of light, and what’s most important to people seems like a fantasy for the characters in your favorite books or games.
People crave a life with…
- A healthy, beautiful body
- Enough money to not even have to worry about the next paycheck
- The freedom to travel, and experience life on our own terms
- Relationships that are meaningful and filled with love
- A career that makes people feel they are adding value and purpose to the world
- Belief in a greater Being, or Universe, that gives us comfort that everything works out in the end
These things seem like a far off dream, something that is only available for those lucky enough to be born into affluent families or have everything given to them from the start. I’m here to prove to you that is so wrong!
You can live your dream life!
I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be the robot, working the 9 to 5 job that feels like it’s never getting anywhere. You CAN get that partner of your dreams, or sip daiquiris on some beautiful distant beach, it’s all about your perspective and beliefs.
Hi! I’m Kate.
Welcome to my lifestyle, health, and spirituality blog. Where my approach to living a life of balance and happiness is unconventional… but oh-so-colorful!
I’m just like you.
I’ve been through your fair share of internal struggle with following the path of living a “conventional” life. You get what I mean – you live a drone-like life spent waking up at the same time, doing the same exact routine during the day, coming home to enjoy 3 hours of your favorite TV show just to fall asleep and do it all over again. You do it because you’re supposed to be paying off your debts from college, saving to buy a house, get married, settle down with kids and work the job some standardized test told you your set of skills and attributes would work best in sync with…
I don’t know about you, but I HATED that life. As you get to know me, I really dislike the use of that word too. Let me explain why I was so against playing worker bee.
Ever since I was a child, my interests and hobbies were always considered eccentric… or as my friends used to call them, “weird”. I was obsessed with symbolism – of all kinds – everything ranging from numerology, to handwriting, palm reading, even tarot cards. Tarot has played a huge role in my life, aiding me in important decisions and even helping me grasp the meaning of life. It’s my connection to the Universe and into other people’s soul’s. It was one of the major reasons why I wanted to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and eventually a career as a physician.
I achieved that goal, but with a price. My passion for tarot and the supernatural took a back seat to my studies as well as everything else in my life. I became very sick, and needed to take time to reevaluate my life. I fell into a deep depression, felt hopeless and like everything was out of my control. The two years after graduating college was spent working at a desk in front of a computer. I lived that robotic lifestyle. It wasn’t until the end of those two years that I finally picked up a tarot deck again and realized what I was missing after all these years.
I needed to feel connected to something larger than myself.
I was looking for a purpose to bring value into other’s lives. I’d still had a passion for medicine but since becoming sick in college I’d gained over 100 pounds, and my deep depression and anxiety made me feel like no one would listen to me. One day I’d mustered up the energy to clean out some boxes I hadn’t unpacked yet, and found my trusty deck among the piles. Holding it in my hands gave me that spark I was looking for, that passion again that I felt reading for others and myself. Slowly, with time, I’d built back up the confidence again to read for friends, family, and even for the public professionally. That confidence gave me the courage to apply for medical school – the dream all along, and the rest was history.
Now I am blessed to share my passions with you.
It’s been a wild ride, I’m now currently studying medicine in the beautiful British West Isles. I read tarot for friends and crush it in class. I’ve found my fire again. I enjoy educating myself on how the body processes food, and what it means to stay healthy: body, mind and soul.
